Live Earth: Road to Paris
The Alliance for Climate Protection Chair and former United States Vice President Al Gore, artist Pharrell Williams, and Emmy-winning producer Kevin Wall have teamed up with The Climate Reality Project and Control Room to launch a year-long campaign, Live Earth: Road to Paris.
On June 18, 2015 Live Earth: Road To Paris concerts will take place across the world, on 6 continents, on one day, reaching over 2 billion people across more than 190 countries.
There will be shows in Paris, France; New York, USA; Johannesburg, South Africa; Sydney, Australia; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Beijing, China, bringing together 100+ of the world’s greatest artists for one day of incredible music. Artists and venue locations will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
Seven-time Grammy award winner, entrepreneur and philanthropist Pharrell Williams will be Live Earth’s Creative Director. Pharrell, a driving force behind Live Earth 2007, has been a longtime supporter of the environment. He is a partner in company Bionic Yarn which creates textiles made from recycled ocean plastic debris.
By the end of November, Live Earth: Road To Paris will have aimed to harness the force of a billion voices with one message, urging world leaders to adopt a new, ambitious climate accord at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, France.
Live Earth: Road To Paris’ ultimate objective will be to collect 1 billion signatures, uniting voices from around the world and demanding environmental accountability from world leaders to reach a binding agreement to tackle climate change at December’s 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, France (COP21/ CMP11).
