ELLE WOMEN IN MUSIC
ELLE, the No. 1 fashion magazine brand in the world, hosted the 5th Annual Women in Music Celebration at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
Along with presenting sponsor CUSP by Neiman Marcus, ELLE celebrated the May “Women in Music” issue with a private concert—hosted by editor in chief Robbie Myers—which featured live performances by GRAMMY Award winning artist Sarah McLachlan, rap’s fiercest new voice Angel Haze, and Australian indie-pop-musician Betty Who.
The event also featured a special DJ set by Rumer Willis. With headliners from every genre, this year’s ELLE Women in Music Issue, on newsstands now, features a range of female artists, from cover star Miley Cyrus to Lily Allen, Angel Haze, Neneh Cherry, the band Warpaint, Arianna Grande, Banks, and Cher to name a few.
Attendees were treated to an assortment of passed hors d’oeuvres, select hosted cocktails, live makeup demos and, of course, amazing fashion and music! ELLE.com gave visitors a virtual backstage pass to all things Women in Music—with exclusive interviews with the musicians and a front row seat to the red carpet and concert action.
Headliner Sarah McLachlan treated the audience to a sneak preview of some new unreleased music, as well as to fan favorites like “Angel” and “Ice Cream.”
Like ELLE, presenting sponsor CUSP by Neiman Marcus has long supported women who are multifaceted and unique in their field; their recently-launched “Make Some Noise” campaign celebrates the most fearless, bold and fashionable women transforming the pop culture, fashion and music landscapes today. This exclusive invitation only concert brought together entertainment and music industry insiders to celebrate and pay tribute to women who rock.
