Letter From The Editor – November

Here at Wiles, we absolutely love style.  Why?  Because our individual style is what makes us interesting, unique and communicates our identity, or at least our perception of ourselves, to the outside world.  There are few cities that offer more options and opportunities to showcase personal style than Los Angeles.  Whether you’re a skater, or well-suited, urban chic or vintage couture, there is some part of the “City of Angels” that reflects your personal mode.

And that’s exactly why, this November, Wiles is all about style!  From our complete coverage of celebrity sightings, parties and fabulous runway shows from L.A. Fashion Week to our Purse Strings feature on “See It. Click It. Own It.” Screen SHOP CEO Erika Smith, we will explore some of the “hautest” looks to hit both the silver screen and the city streets.

We’re also delighted that Los Angeles Galaxy star Adam Cristman graces this month’s “Mr. Right” feature, and will offer his tips on his soccer style and personal flair.  Our Health and Wellness section is packed with essential fitness and nutrition tips to get every woman ready for “Sexy Little Dress Season.”  And we guarantee you’ll be inspired by cultural scribe Marc Alexander’s review of the “Now Dig This!” music and art exhibit which celebrates the styles of some of Los Angeles’ most prolific and lauded artists from the 60’s, 70’s and ’80’s.

Last, but never least, our cover story on sultry chanteuse Goapele will uncover the layers of life, multicultural influence and the evolution of her singing style that are all evident on her latest album “Break of Dawn.”  The story behind her return to the pinnacle of recording industry success after a six-year hiatus is one you definitely won’t want to miss.

The iconic Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion fades only style remains the same.”  While we certainly love beautiful clothing and accoutrements, we couldn’t agree with her more.  From season to season – whether wrapped in sable or chiffon – it is the essence of who we are that makes its most indelible impression on the world.
