STARLET SPOTLIGHT

Social Media Sensation Sasha Anne Talks Acting, Beauty, and Confidence

Sasha Anne is a beauty influencer, entrepreneur, and will be starring in an upcoming episode of the horror anthology, Very Frightening Tales. Her segment will be about the infamous Jersey Devil legend. Filming will commence in March and the Suzanne DeLaurentiis-produced series is set to air in the summer of 2021. In a recent interview, we caught up with Sasha Anne to ask about the role, her new nail polish line, and her message to the world.

WILES: Everyone knows you as a beauty influencer, but did you always have a passion for show business too?

SASHA ANNE: Oh yes! I always have. Ever since I was in 6th or 7th grade. My drama teacher and my English teacher saw it in me. When I was in class, I would sit in the back and I was so shy. But my teachers saw that there was a spark in me that was trying to come out. Each time a play was over, the whole cast would cry… even me. I have always loved to sing, dance, and act. Tell us about your upcoming role in Very Frightening Tales. I play a college student who writes for the school newspaper and will be investigating the local urban legend of the Jersey Devil and the disappearance of my cousin played by Madison Ekstrand. I’m super excited to meet the cast and begin filming next month and also to see what this creature is going to look like!

WILES: Are you usually a fan of horror films?

SASHA ANNE: It depends on how frightening it is. I have a limit and I certainly can’t watch horror films at night. I’m excited to be in one though!

WILES MAGAZINE: You’ve been working with an acting coach. What is something she’s taught you that’s been really helpful?

SASHA ANNE: My acting coach, Giovannie Espiritu, has taught me to think of a real-life experience before getting into the scene or thinking of a person in my life and pretending I’m talking to that person.

WILES MAGAZINE: Aside from everything else going on, you’re also an entrepreneur and have released the Sugar & Spice Nail Polish Collection. Tell us about the collection and what inspired it.

SASHA ANNE: I have worked on my nail collection all of summer 2020 and throughout most of COVID. I realized during COVID how much we use and talk with our hands and how much they represent who we are. With Sugar & Spice nail colors, you can transform from sweet to sassy with the stroke of a nail brush.

I was really shy in middle school and got bullied for it. That shy part is the sweet side of sugar and spice. I gained confidence and found my sparkle through makeup transformations and fashion and that bold side is the spice. I wanted to share a piece of me with all of my friends and followers.

WILES MAGAZINE: What message do you want to send into the world with all of your projects, whether it be a new product, YouTube video, music, or acting role?

SASHA ANNE: If you really love something and are passionate about whatever it is, don’t let anyone stop you from doing what you love. I’ve had people tell me ‘you won’t be able to do it, you aren’t good enough’. When they say those things to me, whether it be my music that I’m working on, or a video, that ignites a fire in me, and I work even harder to be the best I can be. Don’t let anyone tell you, you aren’t good enough because you are if you work hard.
