The Hazing Secret Movie Review

By Natalie Reehl

The LMN original movie, “The Hazing Secret,” is the twisted tale of a college hazing ritual gone wrong. Shenae Grimes-Beech (“90210”) and Keegan Allen (“Pretty Little Liars”) star in the two-hour thriller, which premieres Sunday, September 21 at 8pm ET on LMN.

Every day Megan Harris (Grimes-Beech) wakes from the same horrific dream about a sorority pledge dying in a hazing ritual only to then have her memory wiped clean. With the help of friend and psychiatrist, Dr. Trent Rothman (Allen), Megan tries to unravel the truth behind her nightmares.

Determined to kick her Anterograde Amnesia, Megan joins her former Greek sisters at a college event.

During  the weekend reunion where all their frat brothers and sorority sisters come together for the first time,  a line is drawn in the sand between Megan and the rest of the girls when strange, inexplicable things begin happening and old memories come to light again. The reunion initially seems to be a promising opportunity for Megan to regain her memory, but things soon take a turn for the worse. Her head reels as jealousies and misplaced loyalties begin to simmer, sending her on a downward spiral that has her fighting for her life and battling time to find the truth before her memory is erased again.

If you’re nearly half the fan of Lifetime Movie Network that I am, you know that the movies can be quite dramatic and incredibly (and guiltily) addicting. “The Hazing Secret”, a flick that will certainly grab the attention of any sorority sister or anyone who’s familiar with “ceremonial” pledging.

It’s a wild ride from start to finish, and keeps you thinking since no one can be trusted. And, of course, there’s the troubled love triangle between Megan and her frat-boy ex as well as her therapist, finished off with the ending being a classic Lifetime brain-bender.

Is poor Megan crazy, or are sorority girls just notoriously backstabbing? Find out when “The Hazing Secret” premieres on Lifetime Movie Network September 21st.
