WILES ON THE TOWN – PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM

This past Thursday night, Wiles was in the house to celebrate the Petersen Automotive Musuem’s Third Annual Open House.  The stylish L.A. crowd was treated to a wonderful reception!

The second floor “showroom” featured preserved autos from every era in history, as well as iconic cars from Hollywood favorites including  the “Grease Lightning” car from the hit musical film Grease, the “Batmobile” and much, much more.

While taking in the sights, guests enjoyed amazing offerings from a gourmet cheese bar and delicious passed hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Contemporary Catering and yummy signature cocktails from the lovely folks at West Coast Beverage.

A few brave guests even cut a rug to the sexy sounds provided by VOX DJs!  Patrons were also able to preserve their own history at the Snap Yourself Photo Booth, and Sara Lynn Photography was on-hand to capture the festivities, as well. Decor provided by Town & Country Event Rentals, linens and glassware from Hillcrest Party Rentals and gorgeous flowers from Blooming Designs added a wonderful touch of comfortable elegance.

It’s hard to imagine that the museum has only been in existence since 1994 – because who could possibly imagine the corner of Fairfax and Wilshire without it? Boasting 300,00 square feet of space, the museum offers rotating exhibits of about 150 historic vehicles at a time – ensuring that exhibits are always fresh and relevant.

But the Petersen Automotive Museum is not just a must-see for car enthusiasts. As we learned, it is a terrific venue for any upscale event, and the rooftop area features state-of-the-art meeting rooms, as well as a spacious patio which can provide the ideal setting for a wedding  – featuring the sprawling LA skyline as a backdrop.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at just a sample of the gleaming cars we saw Thursday night!
