Wiles recently caught up with actress Shanola Hampton on the red carpet at the Art of Elysium’s 6th Annual Pieces of Heaven charity art auction, presented by CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka.  The event represented the individual journey each participating artist takes and expresses through their chosen medium. All proceeds raised from artwork sold at Pieces of Heaven will benefit The Art of Elysium’s Fine Arts program, Elysium Project: a platform that merges contemporary art with philanthropy.  The Art of Elysium is committed to supporting emerging, mid-career and established artists through discerning art exhibitions, public art initiatives and special events, while simultaneously creating the infrastructure to ensure that medically disabled children have access to quality, educational and therapeutic arts experiences.

The Art of Elysium, a non-profit founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to volunteer their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions.

Guests enjoyed live entertainment, CÎROC Vodka cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while having a chance to bid on a showcase of over 70 works of art donated by artists, dealers and private collectors that support the charity. The unique artwork was available for purchase during a live and silent auction to benefit The Art of Elysium’s Elysium Project. The live auction was conducted in partnership with Christie’s and was done by Auctioneer Andrea Fiuczynski.

Many artists supported the organization by each buying 3-4 pieces of art by other artists.  A Shepard Fairey piece raised $10,000 during the live auction, making it the highest bid of the night.  Gregory Siff created a wall of all the artists’ faces, which was used as a backdrop to many photos with guests throughout the night.  Actor David Arquette participated in a fierce bidding for Beau Dunn’s photograph of Barbie to give his daughter Coco as a gift.  Unfortunately, he was outbid at the last minute.
