LIVE FROM COACHELLA: H&M LOVES MUSIC

H&M HOSTS ITS FIRST EVER EXCLUSIVE

COACHELLA POOL PARTY HEADLINED BY SANTIGOLD

As an official Coachella sponsor for the 4th consecutive year, H&M, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers known for its high fashion and affordable prices, hosted its first party in celebration of the most fashionable music festival in the country. The exclusive event was hosted at the iconic Merv Griffin Estate, where over 500 guests enjoyed performances by Santigold, The Dough Rollers, DJ Shorty Stump and DJ Michelle Pesce while relaxing pool side at the picturesque property.

H&M Loves Music celebrity guests included: Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Julianne Hough, Darren Criss, Sophia Bush and Justin Chatwin who all came out to relax by the pool and mingle with friends while enjoying musical performances and cooling off from the desert heat.

Austin native DJ Shorty Stump kicked off the afternoon with an exciting sock hop set, followed by one of the most buzzed about up-and-comers this spring, The Dough Rollers. Afternoon beats kept the party in high spirits as one of Hollywood’s hottest DJ’s, Michelle Pesce took the stage. The highlight performance of the afternoon was by Santigold who captivated the crowd by her energetic performance of fan favorites, Disparate Youth, L.E.S. Artistes, and The Keepers. “This is my third time at Coachella, and every year I come to see amazing bands, the weather’s gorgeous, you’re in Palm Springs, and the sunsets at Coachella are just magical; I love coming,” says Diane Kruger. “I grew up with H&M. I was born in Germany and H&M was the only store that had anything that I wanted to wear, and to this day it’s the same.”

The décor of the event encompassed a vibe of modern meets Moroccan inspired touches with printed pillows and textured rugs throughout. Music-loving tastemakers and influencers had the opportunity to lounge in the water, either in the pool on a chic raft, or on a paddleboat in the pond. Guests that preferred to stay on land, played Ping-Pong and bocce ball overlooking the California desert.

Musical performances took place throughout the day while guests enjoyed food and drinks from carts spread throughout the party including burgers, tacos, pizza and desserts such as shaved ice, cotton candy and refreshing watermelon wedges. The H&M Loves Music event took place at the infamous Merv Griffin Estate, a unique property situated on 40 acres in La Quinta, California, approximately 30 minutes from Palm Springs. This beautiful oasis is nestled below the Santa Rosa Mountains and features diverse terrain from elegant horse stables and a racetrack to a private lake and pool. The main house and surrounding cottages were designed in the late 1970’s by noted Cuban architect, Waldo Fernandez using legendary fashion designer Yves St. Laurent’s Marrakesh home as inspiration. The buildings are an eclectic blend of California modern with Morrocan accents, which was reflected throughout the party as well.
