Little Pieces of Heaven (LPOH) is The Art of Elysium’s annual Youth Artists Showcase which gives their Volunteer Artists the unique opportunity to create and inspire original art pieces with pediatric patients.

The Art of Elysium is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, founded in 1997 by Jennifer Howell, which encourages actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions.  They provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines:  acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.  They work with numerous hospitals and hospices throughout Los Angeles, California and began servicing hospitals in New York, New York in 2009.

At the Little Pieces of Heaven event, The Art of Elysium celebrated each of our four disciplines: Fine Arts, Fashion, Theatre/Media and Music.

In addition to featuring various original fashion designs and art, they also featured some original music as well a young girl’s video journal of her journey with chronic disease.

It is an exciting way for children and families to celebrate their artistic achievements and continue to create and explore various opportunities.

Children and their families enjoyed making snow angels in a photo booth provided by Scenario Photography and snacking on treats from the Wicked Kitchen Food Truck as well as sweets from Magnolia Bakery and Caulfield’s Bar and Dining Room.  Also, Santa stopped by for some cookie decorating and to hand out art kits generously donated by Daryl and Susan Beck.

Little Pieces of Heaven is sponsored by Hudson Jeans, Museum as Retail Space, Siren Studios and the Department of Cultural Affairs – City of Los Angeles.
