The New Year has just begun and shedding those extra holiday pounds is something a lot of people are struggling to do.  If your New Year resolution to get and stay in shape then let me help you take charge of your body in 2012!

Kick-start your weight loss success with these quick, easy tips and keep yourself motivated and healthy all year long.

TIP #1- Get an early start. Try and get to the gym earlier in the day as most people have a hard time getting a workout in after a long day of work. Set the alarm an hour early and get it out of the way.

TIP #2- Slow and steady wins the race. Be careful to not over-train the same muscle groups. A good rule of thumb is to give a muscle group 48 hours to recover.

TIP #3- Stay positive. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results from your new workout plan. There are no quick fixes, stick to your plan and results will come.

TIP #4 - Keep your eye on the prize. Set achievable goals, long and short term. This will let you see improvements gradually and will keep you motivated.

TIP #5 – Curb late night snacking. A lot of times we eat late at night because we are bored. Use your will power and choose a healthy snack. Eating unhealthy at night causes you to store more fat because you don’t have time to burn off the calories.

 

We all know that putting on weight is a lot easier than taking it off.  But it’s a new year, and the good news is, you have the power to shape your body and your destiny.
