July may be one of the warmest months of the year, but if you’re looking for the perfect single girl’s getaway to enjoy alone, a trip to scorching hot Tucson, Arizona may be right up your alley.

During the summer months, the temperature in Arizona’s second-largest city can soar to well over 100 degrees, which may be why it’s home to some of the United States’ coolest and most luxurious spas and resorts.

One of my favorite destinations in the Tucson area is the Hilton El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort – owned and operated by Hilton Hotels. While El Conquistador offers a bevy of activities like tennis and golf, the name of my game when I go there is pure relaxation, and it definitely delivers on that front!

The elegant rooms come equipped with all of the accoutrements you’d expect from a Hilton Hotel – including their comfy “Serenity” beds designed to give you the best night’s sleep of your life! Rooms and suites can also come with balconies and patios for you to take in the stunning desert landscape with a cool glass of wine in the warm evening air.

During the day, you’ll enjoy a dip in the delicious pool after spending a bit of time baking on both sides under the Arizona sun.  A quick trip to the resort’s Wellness Center will mark the culmination of your rejuvenation before you venture out into the city for some shopping and dining delights!

For shopping, you won’t want to miss the 4th Avenue Shopping District, where local retailers and popular stores offer their wonderful wares. The landscape in downtown is ripe for walking;  but keep in mind that Tucson is also a bicycle-friendly city, so be prepared to explore its bustling areas near the University of Arizona or in Reid Park on two wheels.

The month of July is a celebration of freedom and the power of our individual spirits. And even though we conquer our worlds a little bit at a time every day, we all need some time to recharge our batteries. This month, take time out to escape and re-energize. Trust me – the world will still need you to save it when you get back!
