What He Wants On New Year’s Eve

By Tripp

One of my favorite holidays is New Year’s Eve. It’s one of the few days of the year you can use as an excuse to get wild and get away from it all. Of course, how wild you can actually get depends on whether you’re single or in a relationship. Whether single or not, let’s get into some of the best ways to spend the holiday.

So you’re single. Well, this is the best time to start a new fling. Come New Year’s, everyone’s ready for a fresh date and all the singles are looking for a midnight kiss. Take advantage of this! Go to a club, bar, or a party and start mingling. Here are a few tips:

Dress to impress. New Year’s Eve is a time to get fancy. Bust out your best and flaunt the hell out of it. You want to go into the New Year looking sexy and sharp. This is the night to meet a lot of people and it’s time to blow them away. If you don’t have anything, then treat yourself for the holidays. Go out and get something that makes you look and feel sexy. You won’t regret it.

Keep your options open. There will be a lot of single people at the bars on this night so why limit yourself to just one? I don’t mean sleep with them all, but get your social mojo going and talk to everyone. What’s the harm in getting a few numbers? Like I said, it’s the New Year. Make yourself available. Dating is a numbers game. You have to take a few swings if you want to try and hit the ball – no pun intended.

The midnight kiss. If you really want a midnight kiss, start closing in on one person an hour before. If you find yourself taking a liking to someone, don’t stray far. This will be your best chance at getting a sweet smooch. Just make sure you pop a mint beforehand.

What if you’re already are in a relationship? This is a great time to get away from it all. The holidays are coming to an end and you can take a minute to think about yourself and your loved one. Getting back into work or school after the holidays is rough, so you want to feel fresh. What’s better than taking a trip somewhere? Here are a few tips:

Keep it cheap. You’ve already spent a ton of money on gifts so if you want to save a few bucks, round up your friends. Some of the best deals for New Year’s Eve are cabins and multiple bedroom suites. Splitting something like that with 2-3 couples makes everything much cheaper. If the suite has a kitchen and a living room then you can even cook your own dinner.

Location, location, location. Pick a nice local getaway spot and cozy in. This makes for a private and romantic time, without spending all your dough.

There’s two ways to go about it. First, you can keep it safe and go somewhere you’ve been. This way you know what you’re getting yourself into and it makes the holiday more comfortable. Or you can pick a random spot and hope for the best. Personally, I would go with the latter. My outlook is optimistic in that every situation creates a story. If you didn’t pick a great spot then this can be a great story for the future. Maybe the place has a mean bellhop, terrible food, and a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom sink. Who cares? It’s an experience that you can look back on and laugh. It’s one more place you can cross of the list for the future.

Regardless of what your romantic status is New Year’s Eve calls for a fun time. It’s a night to party with your friends or cozy up with your significant other. Forget about what’s to come in the next year just for one day. Instead, on this night, enjoy the moment and have a fun time while you can. You can make your resolutions on January 1st after you get over your hang over.
